Tony Blair continues to show that he is one of the few who understands what we face in the war on terror and what has to be done to defeat it.
While
announcing policy initiatives dealing with funding immigrant groups, he said it was the responsibility of all who wanted to live in Britain to embrace the common values which define the nation including tolerance, democracy and the rule of law, and that if you didn't accept that you shouldn't come there.

I applaud Blair for this politically incorrect statement of what should be obvious to us all. Residency is not a right but a privilege, and during time of war one that should be carefully scrutinized and restricted. Compare this to the open border advocates in this country, or those who are afraid to offend the sensibilities of provocateurs who are attempting to harm us even as we protect their rights! If we wanted to weaken ourselves, and gut our internal defenses, we couldn't do a better job than we are now. Think about that.
As for Blair, he continues to deserve our gratitude and respect. The highest compliment I can give him is that he is the only Labor candidate I could ever envision voting for.
