Whatever happened to William Jefferson, a democrat with an incriminating $90,000.00 in his freezer which he is suspected of having obtained by selling his influence in Congress? Amazingly, he has disappeared from the radar, while Mark Foley, who is being shown to be a troubled Gay man, is being excoriated for writing some suggestive IM's [and please note, I find his actions reprehensible, and am glad he had the decency to resign]. Because the Liberals have no scruples and have no problem shifting their opinions about individual rights according to the political advantage they can obtain, they have effectively escalated a replay of the Gerry Studds affair [actually, he HAD sex with a page, whereas Foley is guilty of suggestive writing], which they were able to minimize to the extent that he was reelected several more times, into the greatest crisis facing the Republic since Plamegate [oh wait a minute, that fizzled out..no matter!]. Once again, the Republicans are allowing the Democrats to frame the narrative to their detriment. Enough already! While Foley is a detestable man, and should be punished, his was not an Earth shaking crime, with ramifications for the our Democracy, as opposed to what Jefferson may have done, if we ever find out. In fact, if Foley was a Democrat, we would probably not be subjected to this media circus at all. The Republicans' integrity is noteworthy and admirable, but they cannot allow it to be used against them so effectively. Foley is no longer in a position of power. Do you know where William Jefferson is?
